Blog #1 practice Blog

Hey, My name is Corey Waldon. I am currently a senior here at the University of South Alabama. I have been apart of the Jaguar football team since the beginning in 2009. I was born in columbus Mississippi but was raised in tuscaloosa alabama the home of the TIDE. I am the youngest out of four boys in my family and I am the only person in my family to graduate high school and attend college. I was raised in a single parent home and my brothers taught me a lot of things I hold dear to my heart. Football is what brought me to the University. After playing high school sports I earned a full scholarship to play football.

I  entered the field of education because I believe that education is important to every human. I believe that a positive teacher can influence a student and encourage them to do better things with their life, while also challenging them. I had a few teachers throughout my educational journey that really help me make my decision in going into education. Some of my passions are: working with the youth, coaching football, and motivating people to go get what they want in life. I am a hard worker and believe in the value of success. I love my family they mean the world to me and I am a christian man.

  1. Hey Corey! My name is Marisa Farnell. I find it very cool that you have been on the football team since the beginning. Thanks for being a part of such an amazing legacy for our school! It's inspiring to read that you overcame a lot to become the first one in your family to graduate high school and attend college. I'm sure you have not taken this great opportunity for granted! I also think teaching is one of the most important professions. Teachers not only teach students, but they also mold them into functioning beings of society. Just like you, I have had a few teachers that have influenced me well beyond the classroom, and for that I will always be thankful. You seem like a greatly motivated person and I can't wait to get to read more of your posts!

  2. Coaches should be the best teachers,]. They routinely use PBL as their primary teaching technique.
